Session Outline:

The day will consist of three inter-related topics of importance to principals with respect to their financial management responsibilities and accountability. Session 1 will focus on effective internal controls to manage school finances with a focus on preparing for an audit. Session 2 will use the Assets and Resources policy and how it relates to principals. Session 3 will look at increasing principals' understanding to enable them to confidently sign the various financial reports and returns required by DET and for school financial management purposes.

A greater understanding and awareness of the financial management responsibilities of a principal with a focus on audit, asset management, report reading and linking a school's finances to the annual report.
