Session Outline:
Team-Teach, the popular and successful International BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT TRAINING programme, is running a 12 hour course.
Participants should note that both PART and Team Teach have a broad application of restraint for all age groups. However, there are some ages that are more suitable to a particular approach.
PART restraint training is best suited to upper primary and high school students, as well as adults. Due to specific PART techniques being developed for adult client applications, generalisation of these to physically smaller clients (ie Lower Primary students) may be problematic and risky.
While Team Teach has physical interventions that are suitable for all student age groups, this approach is more applicable if you have junior primary students or primary Education Support students.

|
Session Outcomes:
|
The Key message is that 95% or more of all incidents should be managed without recourse to physical interventions. The emphasis is on protecting and promoting positive relationships.
