Guest Speaker - MARION FULKER Chief Executive Officer, Committee for Perth Ltd Marion is the newly appointed inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Committee for Perth Ltd. This body provides a systematic channel through which Perth business community leaders can make an enduring contribution to the future development of the Perth metropolitan region. Prior to joining the Committee for Perth Ltd, Marion was the Executive Director to the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) which is the body representing the interests of the property development industry. UDIA members include property developers, consultants, local government and state government agencies. Under Marion's leadership UDIA in WA was transformed. The Institute has enjoyed a 60% membership growth and an increase of 250% in turnover during the past four (4) years. Before joining UDIA Marion held administration, business development and marketing roles in the finance & banking & ICT sectors in both Perth and Sydney. Marion holds a Graduate Certificate in Business from Curtin University and is currently studying toward an MBA. She is a Councillor of the Heritage Council and is the Chair of the Development Committee.
Guest Speaker - SARINA JAN Chairperson, The Indigenous Business Institute Ltd (IBI) Managing Director, SarJan Consultancies Sarina is the Managing Director of SarJan Consultancies. She is an Aboriginal Chinese woman, who was born in Darwin, NT and now currently resides in Perth. Sarina has excelled in the field of Cultural Relations and Aboriginal Small Business Development. Sarina was nominated for the 2000 & the 2001 WA Citizenship Award (Business Category) and was the winner of the Year 2000 WA Australian Institute of Management's Inaugural Women's Scholarship (Small Business). In 2003 / 2004, she was also a Councillor of the University of Western Australia's Research Centre for Women in Management & Business and a Councillor of the Australian Marketing Institute (WA Branch). As the Chairperson of The Indigenous Business Institute Ltd (The IBI), a professional entity whose mission is to facilitate the development and growth of Aboriginal entrepreneurialism in Western Australia, Sarina has developed, mentored and nurtured Aboriginal people into business as a means to cultivating good governance, leadership and revenue within the Aboriginal Affairs.
